The primary purpose of Corporate Relation cell is to bridge the expectation gap that exists between industry and the student community. To facilitate the learning and education the Institute organizes guest lecture, industry seminars, round-table discussions, panel discussions coupled with formal and informal discussion to enhance knowledge sharing among students and faculty members.

It achieves this by inviting industry stalwarts for guest lectures that culminate in interesting discussions between the students and magnates across a range of business topics. The Industry-Academia Interactionsare taken seriously at the Instituteto instill the corporate culture into the lives of the participants. Subject and content specific guest sessions are organized on routine basis which indeed helps participants to relate and explore theoretical learning into practical implementation through the real-world experience of successful practitioners. It provides a vibrant platform to the participants to get insights from the vast pool of expertise in a gamut of all the promising areas and sectors wherein they strive to see their professional careers.

WDCIndustrial Visits

Immersion is a process of getting involved in something. To keep pace with recent advancement in the field of education, GLS University’s 18 students along with 2 faculty m explored the opportunity and visited Goergian College, Barrie, Canada for three weeks in July 2016 and fulfilled objectives of immersion program where they gained international exposure, understood Canadian culture and also experienced academic system of Canada. Program covered academic sessions of Marketing, Finance, and Human resource, other areas of general management and aviation simulation and culinary activities at Georgian college. Students were also astonished by activities like Aboriginal, career planning and assessment, treetop trekking. Apart from academic sessions Georgian college also played crucial role in the execution of planning. They devoted more than 5 people for the program and also kept closed eye on all the facilities. Students traveled to Niagra falls, Toronto city, Wasaga beach, BBQ Festival and wonderland (amusement park). Participants were delighted from the learning and outcome of international immersion.

It is good to do a workout and it gets even better when you can have your friends working out along your side. Faculty of Management organized a no excuse workout for all the students across the different courses - Fit-O-Holics.

An amalgamation of Zumba, Aerobics and stretching that was thoroughly enjoyed by the students. As the students came out of the cosy chairs, pulled up their socks and were determined to have a perfect workout to start their day with sweat and fun, the trainers Zin Navin, Zin Neel and Zin Diksha had a tough time to keep them on their toes.

The Navratri fervour in Gujarat has to be seen to be believed. The worth of this fervency is myriad when it turns into a Mahotsav in particular at GLS. The Navratri Mahotsav at GLS has always been a manifestation of faith and tradition, enlivened by rhythm and colour. The passion for Garba manifests itself in the ubiquitous Sheri Garba and the mesmerizing, perfectly choreographed and flawlessly executed stage performances. As every year, this time GLS UNIVERSITY NAVRATRI MAHOTSAV 2015 became an occasion of happiness, worship and ‘josh’. The performances showcased at the Gujarat University Convention Centre to a 2200-strong jam-packed audience, dazzled everyone present.

The institute has a strong network of over 1000 alumni members with whom it is in regular touch through various activities and events. GLS STAMP (Student Teacher Association of Management Program) organizes Sankalan - a reunion of alumni every year with the purpose of confluence between the past & future talent. The Alumni members are the ambassadors of the institute in the corporate & they continue to bring laurels to their alma mater in form of regular guest lectures and final placements. GLS management programmes aims at generating & maintaining a strong alumni network by reaching out to alumni & keeping them connected. At the institute's end, two faculty members are actively involved in maintaining the coordination of this association and expanding the already large alumni network.

GLS takes pride in showcasing achievements of its alumni. Any educational institution gets its name and fame from achievements of its alumni. Faculty members feel proud, staff elated and juniors inspired by achievements of alumni of the institute. All the achievers, time and again feel grateful to their alma mater. Occasionally they feel nostalgic to the moments they shared with friends during college days. But opportunity to meet all the old college friends rarely knocks, in the modern over busy life.

This year, Sankalan was organized on 5th March, 2016 in the GLS Lawn with Housie followed by gifts of more than Rs. 50,000. The occasion was graced by alumni and their family members ranging across various batches. The event ended up with a nostalgic note with a promise to meet again, reinforcing Sankalan, as one of the most awaited event of the year.
