Adani Port Visit 2017
The student of MBA II year, semester III, were taken for an industrial visit at Adani port in Mundra under the subject – International Business. The 2 day visit formed immense learnings for students, helping them to understand the import export procedure, port operations and practical applications of the same in context of Adani Port-Mundra. This trip was a greatly appreciated visit amongst students as it was learning with fun for them. Further they were asked to develop projects on the same practical; learnings that turned out to extremely enriching for students. In total 76 students had participated in the visit.
Thanganat 2017-Garba Celebration
The students of Faculty of Management, GLS University organised a Garba celebration on the 9th day of the Festival, 29th September, 2017. The event started with Aarti and ended up with divine and joyous feeling among all the people who were present. The event also had winners in various categories.
BSE Visit 2017
Learning while doing is what GLS follows religiously. For the same purpose, MBA Semester 3 students were taken to BSE office on 22nd and 23rd of August 2017. The visit was conducted in order to have practical understanding of stock market, its instruments and to know how live market works.
eXperts’ Opinion (XO) Series 2017
In order to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical know-how, GLS’s Management Programmes have nurtured a practice, since last 20 years, of holding Annual Seminar Series featuring dignitaries from different industries and segments of the corporate world. In October 2017, under the auspice of Faculty of Management, GLS university started an eXperts’ Opinion (XO) series, a discussion series in diversified sectors such as Banking, Telecom, IT, Pharmaceuticals, Media, Manufacturing, Retail, Travel, Tourism and Hospitality domains. In addition to this, Faculty of Management has practice of inviting industry experts for delivering sessions on respective industries. Under this guest lecture series, institute invites professionals from varied industries such as telecom, media, banking & finance, insurance, engineering, management consultancy, IT etc to provide comprehensive corporate exposure. The guest lecture series facilitates students to recognize requirements, standard practises, and expectations of the industry in order to get equipped for their corporate career.
Sanshodhan 2017
A Summer Internship Competition was organized by the Institute on 28th August, 2017 to admire, appreciate and assess, the practical learning of the 8 selected projects on the basis of their internship. Extreme research, analysis and literature review of each project made the competition interesting. The competition was made difficult by the questions that the participants faced from the judges. Students were awarded for their practical implications and well suggested findings with respect to the industry of their project. The first prize was secured by Mr. Setu Dani and Ms. Ushmita Rajput, the second prize was secured by Ms. Urvi Ganatra and the third prize was secured by Ms.Jobanputra Mahendi.
