Institute had organized a session on “EBSCO Database” for MBA & PGDM Program 1st year students by Mr. G.K. Upadhyaya, Sr. Training Specialist-Western Region, EBSCO Information Services India Pvt. Ltd., on October 25 & 26, 2018.  Various topics discussed during session includes creation of personalized folder for research, off-campus access of database, sharing of assignment and articles with students, video database, access of database on smart phone etc. Additional update was taught by Mr. Upadhayaya was the usage of Google account. Further different queries by students were addressed by Mr. Upadhaya.
In the spirit of 'Joy of Giving Week' which is celebrated every year in India from the day of Gandhi Jayanti, Faculty of Management, GLS University celebrates Daan Utsav every year. This year too, Daan Utsav was celebrated in the month of October for which various things like: clothes, footwear, toys, books, stationary, old newspapers, magazines, etc were collected and distributed among the underprivileged children and poor people.
The goal of GLS is not only to groom managers of tomorrow, but also to sensitize students towards the needs of society. GLS thus, aims to make their students, socially responsible citizens. On this path, GLS organizes Blood Donation Camp every year in association with Indian Red Cross Society. This year it was organized on 19th September, 2018 by Faculty of Management for MBA, PGDM & I-MBA courses. GLS proudly shares that students had extended their full co-operation in conducting this noble campaign and had volunteered to donate a total of 60 units of blood.
A highly appealing and thought-provoking workshop on ‘Critical Thinking and Argumentation’ was conducted by Mr. Milan Pandya on Oct 24, 2018 for the subject of Critical Thinking and Corporate Communication for the 1st Year MBA Students. Mr. Pandya has trained more than 10,000 people in Critical Thinking & Argumentation so far in Institutes/ Universities like mainly at NID, CEPT, MICA, EDI and Central University to name a few. He compelled the students to critically think any information provided to them through various channels of media. He discussed on how one can identify ‘fake news’ through various examples of print media, television and social media. His mantra ‘If this is True, What else has to be True’ stayed in the minds of the students as the promised themselves to cultivate the habit of Critical Thinking.

Immersion is a process of getting involved in something. To keep pace with recent advancement in the field of education, GLS University’s 20 students along with Prof. Chinmay Gandhi explored the opportunity and visited Georgian College, Barrie, Canada for three weeks in May 2018 and fulfilled objectives of immersion program where they gained international exposure, understood Canadian culture and also experienced academic system of Canada. Program covered academic sessions of Leadership, Human resource, other areas of general management at Georgian college. Students were also astonished by activities like Aboriginal, career planning and assessment, treetop trekking. Apart from academic sessions Georgian college also played crucial role in the execution of planning. They devoted more than 5 people for the program and also kept closed eye on all the facilities. Students traveled to Niagra falls, Toronto city, Wasaga beach, and wonderland (amusement park). Participants were delighted from the learning and outcome of international immersion.
